About
This year, our monsoon chapter is a series of diverse explorations on the awakenings of this high and mighty season by Debarchan Rout. In his first solo exhibition, Rout presents an oeuvre that speaks of his versatility as an artist – formally, technically, content-wise and emotively. He presents meditations on some of our classic monsoon themes – the flora and fauna of the monsoon; a celebration of the elements and nature; the human experience and response to the season; mythologies, stories, and Indian classical literature associated with rain; and the play of the divine elements in this exalted season.

ABOUT
Monsoon Fashion, the fashion segment of the festival presents itself with a brainwavy twist! This year, Monsoon Fashion will be a tribute to Rakshabandhan, the festival of love and bonding. We invite our designers to celebrate the spirit of Rakshabandhan by creating special limited edition designer Rakhis.
Monsoon Fashion has always tried to re-imagine the use of fashion as a tool to tell stories, and create newer ways of experiencing the mad monsoony world around us. This year, not only are we reimagining Rakhi as fashion, but we also hope to re-imagine the festival by liberating it from the context of fraternal-sororal love. We hope to encourage friends, lovers, and loved ones to tie Rakhis to each other, as a communal act of coming together and expressing love in its broadest context.
The Rakhis will be showcased at all festival events, and in an online exhibition on our website. In addition, we will also have a special Rakshabandhancelebration.
Go on, dazzle your rakhi partners with the funkiest designer Rakhis made by leading fashion designers of the country!

About
Celebrate Rakshabandhan, the festival of love and bonding with a difference this year. On the day of Rakhi, sisters tie a rakhi to their brother’s wrists, cementing the bond of kinship and representing the brother’s lifelong vow to protect her.
This year, we hope to re-imagine the festival by liberating it from the context of fraternal-sororal love. We hope to encourage friends, lovers, and loved ones to tie Rakhis to each other, as a communal act of coming together and expressing love in its broadest context. Indeed history tells us that this was common practice but the festival has become streamlined solely on brother-sister love. It is time to reclaim this beautiful idea!
We also wish to re-imagine protection – it is not just the men who can protect, and hence we hope by tying a rakhi to a female friend, you will invert this scheme of things. Don’t forget to eat lots of sweets and demand gifts from your rakhi partners!
We are also celebrating with special Monsoon Fashion rakhis, featuring special limited edition designer rakhis by the country’s leading designers.

About
This two day tour will take us to the magical land of Braj, to explore the sacred ecology of the abode of Krishna. We will spend the first day in Vrindavan, about three hours drive from Delhi – the grove where Krishna performed his lilas. We will visit the six main temples of Vrindavan and witness the many forms of Krishna. In the evening, we will witness Raas Leela, living theatre narrating the stories of Krishna’s life.
The following day, we will circumambulate the hill of Govardhana, a natural manifestation of Krishna himself. The place is charged with an extraordinary energy and instills love of Krishna in the devotee’s mind. Govardhan is truly a rare spectacle of ecology – the sacred hill is abundant with water bodies, and green groves. The hill is dotted with many sacred ponds and water bodies invested with divine properties. Radha Kund – the pond belonging to Radha, Shyama Kund, Manasi Ganga – a manifestation of the Ganga in Brajabhoomi, Kusum Sarovar – with stunning Rajasthani architecture and frescoes; and countless others, where the lord performed his playful pastimes with the gopis. This tour celebrates the intrinsic and inseparable connection of Krishna, the monsoon man with ecology, and water.

About
Hariyali Teej is a traditional festival that celebrates the bounty of the monsoon, and the deep bond between man and nature. Over the last few years, we have attempted to revive this beautiful festival, which is barely celebrated in urban India.
The format of our Teej celebrations incorporates key elements of traditional celebrations. Held in an outdoor venue, we recreate the magic of monsoon swinging. The dress code for the evening is green, in keeping with the mood of the season. Bangle sellers, mehendi artists and craftspeople are invited to add colour to the participants. The women deck up in full glory rivaling the Teej goddess. Traditional sawan foods, like Ghevar, Feni and Andarse ki Goli are prepared by special caterers. And we dance to monsoon music all evening…!
Teej is also a time for sawan melas – monsoon fairs and markets. This year, we invite you to a special Teej Design Mela featuring cutting edge and sustainable design practices. Buy art, fashion, crafts, and design from the best talent in the city!
